Goals and objectives of teaching science and geography in general secondary education
The main purpose of teaching science and geography in general secondary education:
formation of basic competencies in students and general competencies in the field of science and geography;
interrelation of society and nature, geographical objects, processes and events, natural landscape of the Earth, rational use of nature, teaching to think about global environmental problems on Earth, respect and protection of nature, theoretical formation of skills to apply knowledge in practice;
to form and develop the ability of students to apply geographical knowledge to life by generalizing their practical activities with real-life ideas.
The main tasks of teaching science and geography in general secondary education:
to arouse students' love for the world around them, for their homeland, to preserve and protect nature, to form the skills of applying theoretical knowledge in practice, to observe and analyze nature, to inculcate national and universal values and social life and life. to acquire the knowledge necessary for them to continue their education, to acquire thinking and knowledge that meet modern requirements, world standards in the field of education and the interests of national development, as well as to teach them to use them in everyday life.

In the study of geography, the knowledge of mathematics, physics, botany, chemistry, basics of economics, studied in general secondary schools, is summarized, and the first stage of the study of geography begins in grades 1 and 2, A1. Basic information about the Earth, the Sun, weather, seasons, the structure of the Earth's surface, nature protection, urban, rural, life and work of people in them, in grades 3-4 about nature, natural phenomena, the geography of our country. The second phase of the study of geography begins in grades 5-9, and at level A2 provides basic concepts of natural geographical knowledge, information about the continents and oceans, natural regions, economic regions, economic and social geography of the world. The third stage of the study of geography is the continuity and continuity of the teaching materials studied at the A1 level of geography courses at the B2 level of secondary education in secondary education graduates.
