5 tips for learning English fast

One of the most frequently asked questions about language learning is, "How can I learn English faster?" Therefore, in this article I would like to give 5 tips on what to focus on in learning any language.
1. Define the goal clearly.
Without a clear goal, it is impossible to succeed in any endeavor, especially in language learning. So think about what you want to learn English on your own. After graduating as a student, I taught English at a private language training center. The first lesson is always "Why do you want to study English?" I would start with the question. Unfortunately, more than half of the class could not say the exact goal. There were many people who simply said, "My parents are sending, the benefits will be lost."
Because language learning is a long and arduous process, one who sets out on this path without a clear purpose can never learn a language. On the contrary, the more serious your goal, the faster and more effective your language learning will be.
He can set a goal based on all the circumstances. For example, a high school student might aim to “study English in two years and enter Westminster University on a grant basis”. The student may intend to "prepare for the TOEFL and enter a master's program at an American university on a grant basis." An entrepreneur, on the other hand, can aim to “bring new knowledge-related know-how to my business to the world market in 5 years by learning English”. Remember, the more serious the goal, the faster and more effective the language learning will be.
2. The basis of language is repetition.
Language cannot be learned without constant repetition. You can memorize 10 new words a day, but if you don’t repeat those words after 1-2 days, they will definitely be forgotten. One of the most effective ways to do this is with flash cards. Or, you can make the most of the areas where your eyes fall the most. Personally, I would write the words I had just learned on a small piece of paper around the computer monitor and on my bed board.
To make new words easier to remember, you need to learn them by applying them within a sentence. See flash cards below.
3. Communicate
Language is a means of communication. So to learn and develop a language, you naturally need to communicate. When I was a student, there would be Speaking Clubs at various libraries and resource centers. Don’t be afraid to participate even if you can’t speak fluently yet. A person who tries to speak even if he does not yet know the language better than a person who is ashamed to know the language and participate in such conversations wins. So never be ashamed to speak English.
Or, find a partner to practice English continuously. Another advantage of learning a language with one or more partners is that this method creates a unique competitive environment between the partners. Your neighbor or classmate at school can partner with you. If you agree to memorize at least 30 new words each week and meet on Sunday and try each other out, you will definitely try to memorize the words so you don’t fall behind your partner.
4. Adapt the language learning process to your lifestyle
Adapt the process of learning English to your lifestyle. For example, if you take the subway to university every day, you will spend at least 30-40 minutes a week on the subway (15-20 minutes each way). So, to make the most of your time on the subway, you can listen to exercises aimed at developing various Listening Comprehension (e.g. Investudy English podcasts). Or else, when I was a student, classes were often canceled. That meant I had to wait at least 1 hour for the next lesson in between. If you have a similar situation, you can spend this time going to the library and doing only English-related work. Or maybe there’s no one who doesn’t watch movies in different genres. If you want to watch the movie, watch it with English subtitles.
5. Use your smartphone effectively
Since language learning is a long and arduous process, you should try to make it as easy as possible. Your smartphone will come in handy. There are free English language learning programs that can be installed on smartphones. The most popular among them are Duolingo and Memrise. Duolingo and Memrise are similar to each other. But the first noticeable difference is that in Duolingo the words are pronounced more in American English and in Memrise in British English. Anyone with a little knowledge of English can listen to TED conversations. After installing TED on your smartphone, you can listen to the conversation with subtitles if you select English subtitles in the Settings section.
Learning English is not easy. It requires you to set a clear goal, constantly repeat new words, communicate without embarrassment when the opportunity arises, adapt the process of learning English to your life, and finally, make effective use of technology. Omad!
