- Honored Artist of the Uzbek SSR (1965).

- People's Artist of the Uzbek SSR (1974).

- People's Artist of the USSR (1982)

- Laureate of the State Prize of Uzbekistan named after Hamza (1974).

- Order "El-Yurt Hurmati" (1998)

- Medal of Fame (1994).

Creative activity

- Graduated from the Tashkent State Institute of Arts (1954), professor at the same institute

(Since 1983), head of the department (since 1991).

- General Director of the Regional Musical Drama Theater named after M. Uygur (Yangiyul). (1954-56). "Secrets of the heart" (B. Rahmonov), "Nurxon" (K. Yashin),

"Painful teeth" (A. Qahhor). 1958-91

- Director of Uzbekfilm (director in 1982-86).

- Deputy Chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of Uzbekistan since 1996.

Movies

"Gossip in the neighborhood" was the first achievement of comedy (1960).

* Courage of Shomahmudov's family from Tashkent, who raised 2 children of different nationalities without parents during World War II about "You are not an orphan" (1963; International Film Festival Award, Frankfurt-Main, 1963),

* About morality "The sun in your heart" (1965) films have a special place in the director's work.
