April 7 - World Health Day has been widely celebrated by the world community every year since 1950.
On April 1948, 7, at the first meeting of the Assembly on Health, the World Health Organization (WHO) was established. The World Health Organization (WHO) is the United Nations' (UN) leading body in the field of health, which currently has 194 member states.
Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, WHO has offices in 6 regions and 150 countries. The WHO Office in Uzbekistan is part of the WHO Office in Europe. Uzbekistan became a member of the WHO on May 1992, 25. The WHO Office in Uzbekistan was established in 1993 in Tashkent.
WHO and Uzbekistan have been cooperating closely on many important health issues. In particular, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was awarded the prize of the UN Interagency Working Group on the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases (UNIATF).
World Health Day is a global campaign aimed at drawing the attention of every inhabitant of the planet to the problems of health and wellness in order to take joint measures to protect the health and well-being of people.
Events related to the celebration of World Health Day are organized under the auspices of WHO. In connection with the celebration of this day, a specific theme is identified each year in order to draw the attention of the international community to current issues in the field of health.
In particular, 2020 was declared the International Year of Nursing and Obstetrics. At a time when coronavirus infection is threatening the world, the responsibility of healthcare professionals, especially nurses, has increased.
They provide fast and quality medical care based on WHO recommendations and international standards for the recovery of patients with coronavirus infection.
