Eid etiquette

SHARE WITH FRIENDS:

On Eid al-Adha, we give Muslims a small reminder of some of the obligatory and sunnah acts. In particular, from the morning prayer on the day of 'Arafah to the afternoon prayer on the fourth day of Eid, that is, during the 23 daily prayers, it is obligatory for us to say the takbeer after each obligatory prayer.
It is narrated on the authority of 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud and' Umar ibn al-Khattab that the takbeer is as follows:
We say this takbir after every obligatory prayer, whether it is recited in congregation or alone. It is also mustahabb to say it while walking and sitting.
It is mustahabb to stay awake on the night of 'Arafah, that is, on the night before Eid, with dhikr, tasbeeh, and supplication. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Whoever stays awake on the night of Ramadan and Eid al-Adha, his heart will not die on the day when hearts die.
It is sunnah to perform ghusl on the morning of Eid, to sprinkle perfume, and to wear our most beautiful, fresh or clean clothes, and to go to the mosque without eating anything until the Eid prayer is performed.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: He would not go to the mosque on the day of Eid al-Fitr without eating anything, and he would not eat anything on the day of Eid al-Adha until he returned from the Eid prayer.
Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr are the great prayers that Allah has enjoined on His servants: The fast of Ramadan and the Hajj are celebrated the day after they are performed. Allah, glory unto Him, made it obligatory for His slaves to perform two rak'ahs of Eid prayer in gratitude for making it possible for them to perform such great prayers. Allaah says in the Qur'aan: "So pray to your Lord and sacrifice (your camel)." (Surat al-Kawthar, 2)
After we have prayed, we slaughter our sacrifices as best we can, or hire a butcher. It should be noted at this point that it is not permissible to take the wool of a sheep previously taken as a sacrifice, nor is it permissible to give its skin or meat to a hired butcher for service. It is not permissible to sell the skin of a slaughtered victim and use the money for personal gain, but to give alms to the needy..
On the days of Eid al-Adha, all Muslims should congratulate each other and wish faith to the holy fathers and mothers, and tawfiq and guidance to the youth. Visiting relatives, visiting relatives and widows, and visiting widows are among the most rewarding deeds on this day. It would be appropriate for acquaintances who, for some reason, have quarreled and resented each other to embrace and apologize to each other on the same blessed great day. Because being forgiving and compassionate is both a duty and an obligation for every Muslim.
