Hamid Olimjon, a talented poet, dramatist, scientist and public figure, was born on December 1909, 12 in the city of Jizzakh. After graduating from the primary school named after Narimonov, he studied at the Samarkand Pedagogical University (1923–1926), then at the Pedagogy (1926–1931).
Hamid Olimjon was interested in poetry in his student years. His works began to appear in "Zarafshon" newspaper in 1926. Hamid Olimjon's first collection of poems called "Koklam" was published in 1926. After that, poetry collections such as "Fire Hair" (1931), "Olim Yovga" (1932), "Race" (1932) reached the hands of readers.
In the 30s, the poet, who moved with the times and described the heroism of our people in the labor front, wrote the epic "Zaynab and Amon" in the 1943s. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan (1938), Hamid Olimjon created a number of scientific and critical works on current issues of Uzbek literature. Hamid Olimjon translated the works of A. Pushkin, L. Tolstoy, M. Gorky, V. Mayakovsky, A. Serafimovich, T. Shevchenko, M. Lermontov, N. Ostrovsky, A. Korneychuk into Uzbek. "Alpomish", a masterpiece of Uzbek folklore, was first published by Hamid Olimjon (XNUMX).
As a member of the 500th anniversary commemoration committee of Alisher Navoi, he conducted research on the life and work of the great poet. Hamid Olimjon headed the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan from 1939 until the end of his life.
Hamid Olimjon is a romantic in Uzbek poetry with the collections "Daryo Night", "Country", "Bakht" (1939), "The Story of Two Girls" (1935-1937), "Oygul bilan Bakhtiyor" (1937), "Semurg" (1939). made a great contribution to the decision of the image principle. During the fiery years of the Second World War, the poetic drama "Mukanna" was created; it is still one of the beautiful examples of our dramaturgy. The drama "Crime" is written on a modern theme. During this period, among his several poetry collections, ballads such as "Warrior Tursun" and "Roksana's tears" were created.
The talented poet died tragically in 1944 as a result of a car accident.
