"From the Earth, Uruch is the first person to completely circumnavigate the equator using human power"
Erdan Uruch is a Turkish Cypriot traveler born in Nicosia. He entered the Guinness Book of Records as the first person to circumnavigate the equator. He traveled around the Earth on land by bicycle, and by rowing on water, and by kayak on rivers.
The Guinness Book of Records officially recognized Eruch as "the first man-powered man to circumnavigate the Earth" in a journey that lasted 5 years, 11 days, 12 hours, and 22 minutes. He first rowed across the Pacific, then the Atlantic, and finally the Indian Ocean.
He also climbed Mount Denali in 2003, Mount Kastiuszko in Australia in 2010, and Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa in 2011.
