June 5 is the day the first balloon was launched
On June 1783, 5, in Annoe, France, the inventor brothers, the Mangolfies, launched the Aerostat in public for the first time in history. The balloon created by the mangolfees was made of paper and clamped with a cloth woven from flax fiber. The shell of the balloon is soaked in a solution of bitter stone, and at the bottom of it is mounted a woven basket. The balloon was 15 meters high, had a volume of 2200 cubic meters and weighed 200 kg. In the center of the basket is a wire grill, from which hot air rises and fills the shell of the balloon. The first flight was launched without passengers. By November 1783, 21, the brave Pilates de Rozier and François d’Arland had flown for half an hour at the Balloon. In 1906, the first airborne competitions were organized by the American newspaper magnate Gordon Bennett. In the 1930s and 1940s, this new sport became popular in Russia as well. Hundreds of balloons and airships were launched in the Russian village of Dirijablestroy.
