May 15, 1935 was a real event for Moscow and its guests. On the same day at 7.00 the first Moscow metro - Sokolnik and Park lines - was opened. The length of the line was 11,2 km and consisted of 13 stations. On the eve of the war, 2 more metro lines were launched. After the victory, new metro stations were built, and in 1954 the last lines were completed, and in the 60s it was further developed. Today, the Moscow metro consists of 295 km and 12 stations. Its layout includes a single-track road and it has the capacity to carry 9000000 passengers. The Moscow metro is the most beautiful in the world.
