November 18 is the day of adoption of the Law on the National Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan

On November 1991, 18, at the 8th session of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the law on the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan was adopted.  State symbols are the symbol of independence, freedom, peace and stability of every nation. Our great ancestors also considered the flag of the country sacred, revered it and kept it as the apple of their eye. No matter what period in the history of our statehood, the flag was a symbol of freedom, strength, courage and victory for our ancestors. After the independence of our country, on the initiative of President Islam Karimov, on November 1991, 18, the law "On the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was adopted. As noted in this document, our national flag is one of the symbols of state sovereignty.  Over the years, it has been circulating in the Office of the President, chambers of the Oliy Majlis, government buildings, local governments, international organizations of which Uzbekistan is a member, diplomatic and trade missions in dozens of foreign countries, consulates. There are more than two hundred countries on earth and of course each state has its own symbols and flag. Each flag has its own colors and logos. Our flag, which flashes side by side with them, shows that we are not inferior to anyone and will not be inferior. During the official visits of our President to foreign countries, our flag decorates the streets of that country. At various festivities, international events attended by delegations of our country, prestigious sports competitions, the glory of our Motherland, the pride and pride of our people are vividly reflected. Our flag, which adorns our streets during the festivities and celebrations in our country, evokes feelings of gratitude in each of us.  As a result of the great attention paid in our country to the education of the younger generation, the ranks of young people capable of defending the honor of our Motherland at the international level are growing. Especially in honor of our young men and women who have won various sports competitions, the flag of the country is being raised high. At such moments, the feeling of homeland in our hearts becomes stronger, the potential of our people, confidence in our future is strengthened. Every color, every symbol in the flag of our country has a deep symbolic meaning. The blue color in it reflects the source of life, our clear sky, our strength, the peace and stability that reigns in our country. White is a symbol of sacred peace, which is combined with the brightness of the sun and the lights of the universe. White is a symbol of purity, innocence, purity, purity of dreams and fantasies, the pursuit of inner beauty. Green is a symbol of rejuvenation and renewal, youth and joy, as well as a symbol of our mother nature. The red lines are the blood of our ancestors flowing in our veins - a sign of vitality and continuity. It also embodies the dreams of our freedom-loving ancestors who shed blood for independence and freedom. The crescents and stars in our flag are associated with our historical values, lifelong traditions, and spiritual strength. The crescent represents the independence gained, the freedom gained. The flag of our state is a bright symbol of our past, present and future. According to the law, citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as other persons living in Uzbekistan, must respect our flag.

November 18 is Santa's birthday
