October 15 is Teachers ’Day in Brazil

Teachers ’Day is celebrated in Brazil on October 15 as a holiday. The history of the holiday is as follows: on October 1827, 15, under the rule of Emperor Pedro I, on the day of St. Teresa, primary education was organized in cities, villages, settlements, schools, according to the decree on primary education. But for 120 years, much of what was done remained on paper. Teachers ’Day was first celebrated in 1947 at a small school in Sao Paulo. Previously, the study lasted a long time, from June 1 to December 15, with a 10-day vacation in between. Reading without a long break has exhausted the students and 1 day has been set aside as a day off with the opinions and suggestions of a few teachers. Professor Salomao Bexer suggested celebrating October 15, and teachers and students baked cakes at home and organized a feast on the day. October 1963, 15, was declared a national holiday. Despite the fact that it is a day off, teachers in schools are greeted by students and their parents. They are in friendly contact with modern teachers and play an important role in mental and physical development.
