January 14 is celebrated as the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland and the Day of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan, professionals who protect the sovereignty, territorial integrity, peace and security of the population of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The date of the holiday is associated with the following important events in the history of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan: On August 1991, 31, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the Foundations of State Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was adopted. This important document gave our young republic the right to pursue its own military policy. The statement "On the state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan" issued on the same day served as a legal basis for the establishment of our national armed forces. The Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated September 1991, 6 "On the establishment of the Ministry of Defense" is the first foundation of the industry. On July 1992, 3, in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan was transformed into the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan. On December 1993, 29, by the decision of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Uzbekistan, January 14 was designated as the Day of Defenders of the Motherland. Defender of the Fatherland Day is considered to be a holiday not only for servicemen, but also for our compatriots who have returned from military service and thousands of young men who will go to service tomorrow. Celebrations are held annually on the occasion of this holiday, the congratulatory message of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to the Defenders of the Motherland is published, which identifies the most pressing tasks facing the Armed Forces.
