Recommendations for keeping a class journal (sample electronic journal)

Class journal - It is a state document reflecting the implementation of state educational standards and curricula. The school principal and the deputy principal for academic affairs should constantly monitor the correctness of the class journal and record it on the appropriate pages. The class journal is intended for one academic year and is kept in each school, in each class in the copy approved by the Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Instructions for keeping a class journal

 

1. Class journal is a state document reflecting the implementation of state educational standards and curricula.

2. The school principal and the deputy principal for academic affairs should regularly monitor the correctness of the class journal and record this on pages 268-271.

3. The class journal is intended for one academic year and is kept in each school, in each class in the copy approved by the Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

4. Logs of parallel classes are marked with letters in addition to class numbers. For example, class V «A», class IX «B».

5. The list of students in the class is written in alphabetical order, with the full name and surname.

6. Depending on the number of hours allocated in the curriculum for each subject, the pages for one year are allocated at once (including for school-wide subjects).

7. All entries in the class journal shall be written accurately and carefully in the same ink or ballpoint pen.

8. The teacher should write down the topic of the lesson and homework in separate boxes, identify and record the attendance of students. A teacher is not paid for a lesson that is not recorded in the class journal. (!)

9. Attendance of students at the beginning of the lesson is recorded in the following order:
a) if the student is in the classroom, no mark will be made in the class journal on his / her attendance;
b) if the reason for the student's absence is unknown, a "-" sign, an excuse, a "+" sign;
d) for late arrival at the beginning of the lesson is marked "O".

10. The journal records the scores and assessments used by students on the basis of the Regulation "On the rating system of quality control of knowledge of students in grades V-IX."

11. In accordance with the established procedure, the science teacher determines the quarterly (semi-annual), annual (final) ** grades and annual rating points and records them in the appropriate columns and signs them.

12. The sequence of recording scores and defined grades in the cells in the class journal is as follows:

For grades 5-8: current and interim control scores —► * quarterly (semi-annual) grades —► staged control points —► annual grades —► P-annual rating points.

For 9th grade: current and interim control grades —► ** quarterly (semi-annual) grades —► annual grade —► final control score —► final grade —► annual rating score.

13. The topic and the homework are clearly written in the space indicated in the "What was learned in class" and "Homework". Including,
a) the order of writing the previous topic: multiplication of simple fractions, planning and writing in the text on the topic "Our school";
b) The assignment page and exercise number are written in the place indicated as “Homework”. For example, page 42. Exercise 77

14. The class teacher copies the quarterly (semi-annual), annual (final grade) and annual rating scores for each subject in the blank cells on pages 224 235.

15. The class teacher notes one of the following on the student's behavior (p. 235): "exemplary," "satisfactory," "unsatisfactory."

16. The class teacher records the number of lessons missed by students on pages 236-255 each day. Pages 256-257 record the total number of lessons missed during the quarter and year.

17. The part "Decision of the Pedagogical Council" is supplemented on the basis of the Instruction of the Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the procedure for transferring students from class to class and the final certification "On the basis of gradual (final) control" (p. 258). For example, on the basis of the student's annual (final) grades, it is written "transferred to 7th grade" or "completed 9th grade". If a student is unable to pass a phased (final) examination due to illness or other reasons, it is written “postponed to autumn” and the name of the subject is clearly indicated on the page. The column “On the basis of the autumn stage (final) control” (p. 259) is also completed as above. Such as ‘transferred to 7th grade’, ‘completed 9th grade’ or ‘postponed to second year from‘… ’subjects”.

18. Pages 260-261 are completed by the school health worker and physical education teacher, the class completion sheet (pages 262-263) and general information about the class (pages 264-267) by the class teacher.

19. The head of the class is responsible for the daily control of the rules of storage and maintenance of the class journal, the distribution of the pages of the journal by subject, the list of students on the pages.

20. The class journal is a strictly controlled school document in the school 75 years (!) stored.

* Quarterly subjects taught for more than 1 hour per week, 0,5 and 1 hour taught academic subjects
semi-annual assessments are determined.
