In 2001, September 17 was declared Constitution and Citizenship Day by US President George W. Bush. September 17-23 was designated as Constitution Week in 1955.
Many U.S. citizens still celebrate it, regardless of nationality or religion, even though it is still not a holiday. This day has become an important date since September 1787, 17, when delegates to the 12-state Congress signed the world’s 1st constitution in the United States.

September 17 - A cultural festival called Lee Hyo Sok will be held in Pyeongchang, Korea. The festival will be held from September 9 to September 18 in Pyeongchang. Lee Hyo Sok is the author of the famous book “When Buckwheat Blooms” which is very popular in Korea. In this play, the beauty of nature and human life are skillfully demonstrated. In particular, the natural landscape of the city of Pongpyeong, where the author was born and raised, is widely covered. The Li Hyo Sok Cultural Festival is held annually with the aim of acquainting the public with the life and work of Lee Hyo Sok and the masterpiece of Korean literature.
