Student academic leave is granted in the following order
?? By the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2021 (No. 344), the regulation on granting academic leave was approved. According to the regulations, students have the right to take an academic leave of their choice, regardless of the type of education they study.
To receive an academic leave, the student applies to the rector (director) of the Higher Education Institution.
✔️ Academic leave can be granted in the following cases:
➖ for military service;
➖ to restore health;
➖ for pregnancy;
➖ for child care;
➖ to take care of a sick family member.
❗️Academic leave is granted in any part of the academic year, within the period specified by the legislation. In this case, one of the mentioned periods is determined by the rector (director) of the higher education institution according to the student's application.
A document substantiating the reason for taking an academic leave (a summons to call up a student for military service or a statement from a medical institution where the student is under constant medical supervision or a statement from a medical institution where a sick member of his family is under constant medical supervision) is attached to the application.
✅ The application will be considered within a week, and the granting of leave will be formalized by order of the rector (director) of the Higher Education Institution. It shows the start and end date of the academic leave.
➖ Granting a student an academic leave is not considered to be his expulsion from the higher education institution.
Also, stipends are not paid to students during academic leave.
➖ Students returning from academic leave within the specified period are not required to re-learn previously mastered subjects.
