What to do if a liquid spills on a laptop

Here's what to do when this happens:

1. We know that the power supply does not come out with liquid, so it is necessary to immediately disconnect the laptop from the power supply. This is not the time to worry about your unsaved files, where speed is paramount, seconds can solve everything.

2. Solve the case with alternating current and turn on the alternating current, that is, immediately disconnect the laptop from the power supply in the socket and remove the battery. You don't have time to browse the manuals on how to remove it, watch videos on how to remove a laptop battery on YouTube, or search on Google, as far as you know. Don't sit back and follow the rules (it's best to practice removing the battery after you buy a laptop).

3. Some laptops have a special protector on the keyboard, if you have one, you can remove it, wash it, dry it and use it again, in which case the laptop will not be damaged, the advice is to use such a protector.

4. If you do not have such a film, your work will be more difficult. Take a cloth, turn the notebook upside down, wipe off the liquids inside and on the keyboard, and if there is any thicker juice, drop it inside.

5. Quick things are left behind, now you need to open the inside of the laptop. If you can, open them yourself or take them to a computer repair shop and use them to solve the problem. If you know how to open the inside of a laptop, if you have changed the details there, that is, if you have already mastered the art of doing this work, you can do the work of the master yourself. Open it, also remove the CMOS battery inside, remove all the details and leave them open for 24 hours to dry.

6. The test can be performed after 24 hours. First of all, look at the details one by one, the main thing is to make sure that the motherboard (Materinskaya plata) has no moisture, no corrosion. Then start assembling the laptop, do not lose focus during assembly, and check again after assembly.

7. Start the laptop, there may be one of the following 3 situations when you start:

The laptop may not light up, in which case turn it off immediately and take it to a workshop, which means that some part or board is out of order;
The laptop is on, but the keyboard may not work, and not all keys or certain keys on the keyboard will function. In this case, take it to the master, otherwise you will get out of this unpleasant situation (liquid spill) with minimal damage, that is, the keyboard will be replaced or repaired;
The laptop is on and the keyboard also works. In that case, don't rush to be happy. Install a program that scans the laptop and all its components (AIDA64, SiSoftware Sandra, HWMonitor) and thoroughly scans.
