Spielberg entered the history of cinema as the author of fantasy films and thrillers. These films impressed the audience with their bright, dynamic plot and combined cinematography. As a child, Stephen began using his father's camera to photograph toy trains, and while at school he made several amateur sci-fi films. After graduating from university, he worked as a television director, and it was only in 1971 that he moved to Hollywood and began to work seriously in films.
He got an offer to work at the cinematographic center after the shooting of the movie "Duel". It was a film with a simple story that did not require a lot of production costs. Only a handful of actors were involved in the film, and they had to take turns telling the story of a driver who is being chased by a mysterious, possibly unmanned, truck. For the first time, it was in this film that Spielberg was able to keep the audience in suspense until the end of the picture.
The fictional adventures he created on the screen required a huge investment. But this did not stop Spielberg. He was attracted by special effects and world fame. He made his first films mainly based on books that became bestsellers. The first real success came to him in 1975, after the creation of the film "Jaws", which became one of the highest grossing films in the history of cinema. The story was invented by Peter Benchley. It told the story of a huge man-eating shark that terrorized the inhabitants of a small resort town and how a brave police hero defeated it.
A special shark was made for photography. According to some reports, it cost 3 million dollars to make, because it was created on the basis of the most sophisticated computer technology, imitating the movements and habits of a real predator. The character created by Spielberg became so popular that 2 more films were made with the participation of this shark, Jaws 1 and Jaws 2. In the last picture, the shark even had a baby.
Spielberg then turned to science fiction and made Aliens from the Third World in 1977, in which aliens make contact with Earthlings. In 1981, the films "Finding the Lost Ark" and "Alien" also brought unprecedented success. They brought in more than 700 million dollars. The film "Alien" told a poetic story about the friendship between a boy and a representative of a distant planet who accidentally landed on Earth.
According to the plot of the film, the boy overcomes many difficulties and helps the alien to return to his world. These films were followed by a series of adventure films featuring the famous character Indiana Jones. At the discretion of the director and screenwriter, the hero goes through various adventures in search of treasures and solutions to riddles of the distant past. Jurassic Park (1993), full of amazing effects, also became a real sensation, for which computerized models of moving dinosaurs were created.
The film was created based on the novel by Michael Crichton, the writer who invented the famous "Terminator". It tells the story of dinosaurs grown in test tubes and released on an island, which unexpectedly go out of control. It was so unusual that America was soon covered in a wave of dinosaur novels, special computer games were created, and toys began to be produced. Interestingly, despite the constant box office success and popularity of the films among the audience, the critics ignored the director. It wasn't until Spielberg started his own company and made Schindler's List that they started writing about him.
Spielberg received the 1994st Oscar - the highest film award in the United States - for this picture, which conquered the world's screens in 1. It was a big day for him, as the picture won 6 more nominations, including Best Picture. Its plot is based on an actual event. The script was written by the director himself and became a kind of requiem (funeral music) for the Jews who died during the Second World War. Spielberg can be called a skilled director, a master of computer scenes.
He knows how to build a plot in a wonderful way that keeps the viewer in front of the screen. Although Spielberg's films always have unusual endings, all of his films have a lot in common. He never scares his audience, but only teaches and warns them. That is why his films are loved by both adults and children alike. It allows its audience to enter a fantasy world that looks like a wonderful fairy tale, that they want to visit and take part in adventures.
