BIOS information

BIOS (Basic Input / Output System) - is the main input-output system, motherboard(motherboard) as a separate chip. The function of this chip is to connect the computer and the operating system. Each time the computer is turned on, it first runs the bios, checks the computer hardware settings, and gives the operating system its job to the boot file (program) (NTLDR, bootmgr).

The output of various recordings and sounds when the computer is turned on, the work of the bios written in ROM (Read Only Memory) memory.

The BIOS performs the following functions:

- Activation of the computer, resetting all elements;

- Carries out initial inspection of computer equipment (POST-test);

- performs initial setup of the computer device part;

- allocates system resources;

- Registration and configuration of PCI devices;

- performs the initial boot of the operating system (bootmgr);

- checks the compatibility of devices with each other;

- power supply control, computer shutdown, sleep mode.

Properly configuring the BIOS will affect the performance of the computer, so it is important to learn this programming well first. Different types of motherboards use different types of BIOS, so it is not possible to make a single manual, but the basics are the same anyway. As the type of processor evolves, BIOS settings also become more difficult. This poses additional challenges.

Depending on the type of BIOS, its appearance will also change, there are several versions in addition to its type, these versions also need to be updated.
