The fountain was built in the heart of the Downtown Dubai development on a 12-hectare area on the Burj Khalifa Lake. It was designed by WET Design, a California-based company responsible for the fountains at the Bellagio Hotel Lake in Las Vegas. The fountain is illuminated by 6600 lights and 50 colored projectors, and pumps shoot water 275 meters high to classical, contemporary Arabic music and world music.
