How to block an Instagram user
To block any user on Instagram, follow these steps in your account:
- Go to any user's page in any way: click on his name, select from the subscription list, or use search.
- Press the menu button - three dots in the upper right corner. Select "Block".
- Confirm the block.
- As a result, you will receive information that the user is blocked.
What happens when a user is blocked: if a user can’t find you through a search, you will disappear from his or her subscription list (if he or she subscribes to you) and if he or she still visits your account page. (for example, in a direct link through a browser), it is indicated that there is no such page (this is also possible when they indicate that there are no publications on the page). You will not see this user's messages either.
Note: Unfortunately, blocking an Instagram user who has managed to block you before doesn’t work - you won’t find it blocked.
How to find and unblock a blocked user on Instagram
To find a blocked user, you can use one of the following two methods: the first works in any case, the second - if the user himself did not block you in response.
The first way to find and unblock a blocked user on Instagram is to follow these steps:
- Click your profile button at the bottom right, then click the menu button (three lines on the right) and select “Settings” at the bottom.
- In the settings, go to the "Privacy" section.
- Select "Blocked Accounts". Note: if you cannot find this item, use the search by settings, the search field is located at the top of the screen.
- Unblock a user by clicking the "Unblock" button.
- Confirm the unblocking of the Instagram user account.
The second method is almost the same as the locking process:
- Go to the Instagram search page, enter your username.
- Open the Accounts tab, you can find it if it hasn’t blocked you (it doesn’t show up in the Best tab).
- Open the user profile, press the menu button (three dots in the top right) and select “Delete”.
As a result, the user will be unblocked and if your profile is open, he will be able to see your posts again, otherwise he will have to subscribe to you again.
