How to determine if you are gnashing your teeth.
Tooth decay - in medical parlance - is called bruxism. It is the habit of the body to close its jaws and grit its teeth without realizing it. Bruxism is usually observed when a person is asleep or when he is focused on something important. Therefore, a person may not realize it himself. If you have pain in your jaws and feel that your teeth have become more sensitive, brittle and falling out, it means that bruxism has not bypassed you. At such times it is recommended to determine the cause of bruxism and see a dentist.
What causes tooth decay?
The causes of tooth decay can be:
• Stress and fatigue;
• Taking antidepressants;
• Sleep disorders;
• Bad habits;
• Wrong pricus.
There is speculation that the main cause of tooth decay may be intestinal vomiting. But scientists disagree. According to them, if you have a habit of gnashing your teeth, you should immediately go and try to get rid of bad habits, relax and distract from various problems, without giving an analysis of intestinal worms.
How to get rid of tooth decay.
Rest and smoking cessation do not always help to get rid of bruxism. In such cases, additional methods of treatment are used:
1. Use special tools.
The “cap” that protects the teeth reduces the pressure on the teeth and prevents their enamel from being subsequently damaged. Consultation with a dentist is required when choosing a cap.
2. Do the exercises.
Performing the following special exercises will relax the jaw muscles and help you get rid of the habit of gnashing your teeth.
• Open your mouth as wide as you yawn. Open your mouth wider without embarrassment and allow the jaw muscles to stretch as much as possible.
• Close your mouth and move your lower jaw 10 times on both sides.
• Open and close your mouth 8-10 times.
3. See a psychologist
If the cause of tooth decay is stress and restlessness, then consult your own specialist - a psychologist.
