Some babies vomit some of the milk they suck. What is the cause of vomiting? Need to worry about that?
In fact, the baby's vomiting is more annoying to the mother than to her. Usually the baby vomits an insignificant amount of breast milk. A tablespoon of vomited milk is bound to look like a lot in a dress.
The main cause of vomiting in the baby:
- The baby swallows air when he is not breastfeeding, so the stomach also expels milk during exhalation;
- A child who drinks milk in a hurry often has a full stomach and writes down the food.
- If a breastfed baby lies on his stomach or jumps and plays with it, his stomach will move and record the milk.
Ways to eliminate or reduce vomiting:
- Do not rush while breastfeeding. If you are giving smes, then it is better to give it less often;
- Allow the baby to breathe when you are breastfeeding. As you move the breastfed baby from one breast to the other, if you place the baby on your shoulder and gently press his back, he will snort and let out air. When giving smes, exhale in the above style after drinking every 90 ml;
- Hold the fed child in a vertical position for 20-30 minutes;
- Do not play with a child who has eaten for at least 30 minutes;
- If you are feeding a baby from a bottle, make sure that the tip of the nipple is not too large.
Usually, a baby's vomiting disappears by 6 to 7 months of age. So there is nothing to worry about during this time other than vomiting clothes.
Vomiting is a problem in the following cases and requires immediate medical attention:
- The child is losing weight or the child is not gaining enough weight;
- The number and amount of vomiting is increasing;
- The rate of vomiting is increasing (erupting like a fountain);
- The color of the marked mass is green or orange;
- In addition to vomiting, the child seems to have abdominal pain;
- The child is constantly coughing and sneezing during feeding.
