The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) or North Korea is a country located on the Korean Peninsula, north of South Korea. The area is 120,54 thousand km². Population 23 486 550 people. (2018) The capital is Pyongyang. Cities under 9 administrative provinces and 4 centers (Pyongyang, Kaesong, Khamxin, Chongjin). The head of state is the president. The highest body of government and the legislature is the unicameral Supreme People's Assembly.

In 1948, under the leadership of Kim Il Sung, the Central Committee of the Labor Party was formed.
In 1958, social formation in rural and urban areas was completed.
In December 1972, the new constitution of the DPRK was adopted.
