The names of the most expensive and cheapest cities for tourists have been announced

Mercer has published a ranking of the most expensive cities in the world for foreigners to live in 2021. In the ranking, Ashgabat rose one place, surpassing last year's leader Hong Kong. The Lebanese capital, Beirut, took third place.

For information, the Lebanese capital has risen 42 places in a row as a result of political unrest over the past few years. The COVID-19 pandemic and the explosions at the port of Beirut boosted the economic impact and raised inflation to record levels.

It is followed by Tokyo and Zurich. The remaining ten are occupied by Shanghai (6), Singapore (7), Geneva (8), Beijing (9) and Bern (Switzerland). Tbilisi (207), Lusaka (the capital of Zambia) and Bishkek are among the cheapest cities in the ranking.
