What causes the cervical lymph nodes to enlarge?
Causes of inflammation of the lymph nodes in the neck can be:
• Respiratory diseases, acute respiratory viral infection (ARI).
• Problems in the oral cavity and nasopharynx: caries, pulpitis, sinusitis.
• Common infections: chickenpox, measles, cytomegalovirus.
• Skin infections: boils, carbuncles, scabies.
• Otitis (ear infection).
✍️When to see a doctor?
Lymph node enlargement is not an independent disease, but a sign of some other infectious disease. Therefore, they again come with the following characters:
• General relaxation and fatigue;
• Increased body temperature;
• Headache;
• Pain in the throat, ears and mouth;
• Nasal congestion.
