What to look for when choosing glasses for children?

Otabek Ikramov,
Chief physician of the Republican Clinical Hospital of Ophthalmology:

- Nowadays, the number of children wearing glasses is growing. This is, in part, due to the fact that the eyes of infants are now being examined at an earlier age. Due to this, their visual defects are detected in a timely manner.

On the other hand, the onset of early eye strain (e.g., excessive staring at a cell phone, sitting in front of a television screen for hours) leads to an increase in short-sightedness and short-sightedness in school-age and preschool-aged children.

At this time, improperly selected glasses can disrupt the normal development of the optical system of the eye and can also damage visual function.

Properly chosen glasses help a person a lot, that is, they allow him to see things around him better.

It has even been observed that it later restores visual acuity. A well-chosen flange does not spoil the appearance of the face, it makes it look a bit more beautiful.

When choosing glasses, make sure that the flange is well fitted.

Because people have different facial structures, it is sometimes difficult to choose a flange that fits the face. This means that it must be selected by a specialist.

The flange should not hurt the nose and ears, and at the same time ensure that the glasses are positioned correctly relative to the eye, as well as match the distance between the pupils.

Then the glasses will not cause discomfort to the child and it will be easier for him to get used to it quickly.
