Is it mandatory for teachers to go for professional development?

Q: I am a math teacher. Recently, our Methodist said that I should go out to improve my skills. And I don’t need to go out to improve my skills. Can I skip the internship at all? Is it mandatory for teachers to go for professional development?

Ulugbek Pulatov answered the question on the Public Education Info channel.
In order for pedagogical staff to continuously improve their professional and pedagogical skills in the positions, specialties or disciplines they teach, they must go for in-service training within the period specified in the main place of work.

In accordance with the Regulation approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on January 2022, 17, in case of failure of pedagogical staff to undergo advanced training at the main place of work without good reason, regardless of the term of the employment contract, two will be canceled within a month.

In simpler terms, a teacher is dismissed if he or she does not attend the refresher course.

Therefore, in order for a teacher to continue his / her work in an educational institution, he / she is required to improve his / her skills on the basis of a direct contract with a specialized educational organization.
