Tetsuo Miura (1931–2010)

He was born in 1931 in Hatinoxe, Japan. He graduated from the Faculty of French Literature at Waseda University in Tokyo. His first story, When I Was Fifteen, was published in 1955.
His stories The River of Patience and Utah and His Friends brought him fame. A collection of short stories, The Pistol and the Fifteen Stories, and The Lost Rays, played a significant role in the development of Japanese prose.
The writer died in 2010.
