Saidov Jura Kamolovich (1909, Kokand - September 1999.9.4, 1968, Tashkent) - botanist. Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan (1977), Honored Scientist of Uzbekistan (1960), Doctor of Biological Sciences (1967), Professor (XNUMX).
He graduated from the Uzbek Pedagogical Academy in Samarkand (1932). Assistant of the Department of Botany of the Kokand Cotton Institute (1932-35), Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Botany of the Samarkand Agricultural Institute (1941-43), Director of the Institute (1943-52), Head of the Department of Botany and Plant Physiology (1952-60), Rural Uzbekistan Academician-Secretary of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences (1960-61), head of the laboratory of plant morphology, anatomy and embryology at the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan (1962-88), director of the institute (1964-86), chief researcher since 1988.
His research interests include plant anatomy, morphology, and physiology. Jura Saidov studied the effects of soil saline with carbonate and magnesium, chloride and sulfate salts on the anatomy and physiology of cotton and corn. He studied changes in the anatomy and morphology of the cotton leaf infested by spiders. Founder of the School of Anatomy, Cytoembriology and Phytomelioration of Desert Pastures of Uzbekistan.
Under the direction of Jura Saidov was published 12-volume "Morphobiology of useful plants" (T., 1964-93).
