Murod Muhammad Do'st (1949)

Murod Muhammad Dost was born on April 1949, 12 in the village of Jam, Samarkand region. He graduated from the philosophy department of the history faculty of Tashkent State University (1971). Studied at the Institute of Literature in Moscow (1974-79). He worked at the Uzbekfilm film studio and the Sharq Yulduzi magazine.

The first collection of stories - "Where are you, the sound of joy?" (1976). After that, stories such as "Mustafa" (1977), "Blood of a mare" (1979), "Return to Galatepa" (1983), "In the steppes" (1987) were published.

He then wrote Lolazor (1988), a novel about the spiritual, economic, and political decline of the recession. The novel won the Hamza Prize in 1990.

Murad Muhammad Dost's story "Return to Galatepa" attracted the attention of demanding readers and literary critics. After all, Gaybarov had just entered a new world, a man of new thinking, unprecedented in literature. In the novel "Lolazor" there was a sign that the communist ideology was decaying in this new way of thinking, and the candle of independence was burning.

Feature films have been made based on his works.
