Mirpolat Mirzo (1949-2018)

Mirpolat Mirzo was born on August 1949, 20 in the village of Sayram, Shymkent region. Honored Worker of Culture of Uzbekistan (1999). He graduated from the journalism faculty of Tashkent State University (1971).

From 1971 he worked as an editor of the "Young Guard" publishing house, in 1982-86 as executive secretary of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan, deputy editor-in-chief of the "Young Guard" publishing house, editor-in-chief of the "Writer" publishing house, since 1997 deputy editor-in-chief of the "World Literature" publishing house.

Mirpolat Mirzo's work began in his student years. His first collection of poems was published in 1971 in the magazine "Gulistan". His first collection of poems was published in 1975, followed by "Dawn" (1976), "Season of Love" (1978), "Good Days" (1981), "Sunbula" (1985), "Blue River" (1988), " He has published more than 1990 collections of poems, such as "Roses and Stars" (1995), "Mother", (2005), "Selection" (10). His translations of the works of world poets are "Flowers of the Milky Way" (2004), "Sayra, dombiram!" (Anthology of Kazakh Poetry, 2005), published under the titles "Lojuvard sky", "Russian poetry of the XX century" and won the love of poetry lovers.

Mirpolat Mirzo's books "Surur", "Rayhon isi", which include essays, journalistic articles and literary conversations, were also received with special attention by the literary community.

As a translator, Mirpolat translated into Uzbek Mirzo Lessing's "Wise Nathan", Shakespeare's "Wonders of the Summer Night" and many works of about a hundred representatives of world literature in various genres. The series “Flowers of the Milky Way” (Anthology of World Poetry, 2004), “Sayra, Dombiram” (Anthology of Kazakh Poetry, 2005), “Lojuvard Osmon” (Poets of the 2008th Century, 2010), “Russian Poetry of the XNUMXth Century” (XNUMX) translation kits have been published.

Mirpolat Mirzo's creative work has been awarded the Boris Pasternak International Prize (1999) and the Alash International Prize (2001). He is an honored cultural worker of Uzbekistan.

He died on February 2018, 21 in the city of Tashkent.
