The $ 30 billion Al-Haram Mosque in Mecca
Al-Haram Mosque is the most expensive building and the largest mosque in the world. More than $ 30 billion ($ 102 billion in current value) was spent to build it.
Inside the mosque are the Kaaba, Makam al-Ibrahim (where Abraham stood during the construction of the Kaaba) and the Zamzam spring.
After the last reconstruction in 1980, the current mosque has an area of 357 square meters. It also includes 100 towers with a height of about 9 meters. The building itself is decorated with more than 500 marble columns.
