What to save before reinstalling Windows

Typically, the operating system is installed on drive C, which means that it is important to save the necessary files on drive C, but not many people know where to store these necessary files. You also need to save some settings.
So, before reinstalling Windows, keep the following:

1. Desktop ("Desktop"). Most people like to save the necessary files on their desktop, although when the system is reinstalled, these files are deleted. Therefore, copy all the files on your desktop to another disk (for example, disk D). Desktop files are stored at:
C: \ Users \ username \ Desktop

2. Download («Загрузки»). This is where most of the files you download from the Internet are stored, which you also need (if you didn't need them, you wouldn't have downloaded them from the Internet), save them to another disk or external storage device when the system is installed. , these will also disappear. Address:
C: \ Users \ user \ Downloads

3. "Basket". I know some people who don't need files temporarily, they just put them in the "basket" so that they don't stand out in front of me, so that those files don't stay.

4. AppData. This is where the apps and game settings you install are stored. If, after you reinstall the system, you install the programs you previously installed, the settings will be taken from this directory, which means that you should also save this directory somewhere so as not to waste time on the settings. Note one thing, the AppData directory will be closed. His address:
C: \ Users \ user \ AppData

We have saved the necessary files, now we will save the necessary settings.

1. If your computer is connected to wired internet or a network, write down the IP, MAC, and gateway addresses that the computer uses.
2. If you work with torrent sites, save torrent files as well.
3. Save the tabs in the browser. It is saved as a tab in the browser so that you don’t remember the sites you want. When the operating system is reinstalled, the browser also shuts down and the tabs also disappear. Each browser has a menu that exports tabs, use it.
4. Save the installed computer drivers. Once the operating system has been reinstalled, save the drivers so you don’t have to search again. I will write about how to save in future posts.
5. Write the name of all installed programs somewhere, all programs will be deleted when the system is installed, then you will install the programs from the list.

The above are the basic things you need to save, in addition to depending on your computer usage, you can also save the password to connect to the internet, Wi-Fi password, registry information and more.
