Lake Titicaca, Peru | Bolivia 🇵🇪🇧🇴

Titicaca is the largest high-altitude lake in the world (3812 m) in the central Andes on the border between Peru and Bolivia. The area is 8,3 thousand km². Its length is 150 km, its width is 70 km, its deepest point is 304 m. The location of the lake is a tectonic valley, the shores are curved, some places have steep slopes. 45 rivers and tributaries flow into Titicaca, the Desaguadero River flows from the lake and flows into Lake Poopo. Water increases in March and decreases in May-December. The water freezes near its shores, fish is caught from the lake, and ships sail. The largest city and port on the lake is Puno (Peru). The ancient cultural monuments of the Indians are preserved on the south-eastern coast and islands of Titicaca. Today, Lake Titicaca is considered one of the most enigmatic regions on earth because of its similarities with the Pacific Ocean.
