Chustiy is one of the poets who continued the traditions of our classical literature in the new era. Accordingly, he took a worthy place among such ghazal writers and singer-poets as Habibiy, Sabir Abdullah, and Charkhi.
Chustiy is the literary pseudonym of the poet, who was born in the city of Chust, Namangan. His real name was Nabikhan (Nabikhoja), the son of Nurillakhoja, and he was born in May 1904 in the family of a weaver-craftsman. In 1916, due to the changes and instability in the country, fourteen Nabikhan families moved to Kokhan and engaged in weaving. From the age of twelve, the future poet loved his father's profession and helped the family. Currently, he is studying in old schools and madrasas.
In 1940-1943, Chustiy served as a literary fellow and then as a director at the Musical Drama Theater named after Mukimi. In 1944-1945, he worked as a director in the Literary Fund of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan, and then as a translator in publishing houses.
In 1950-1976, he worked as a researcher at the Institute of Language and Literature of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.
His passion for poetry and creativity was greatly influenced by Eastern classical literature, primarily by his father Nurillakhoja, who created ghazals, epics and masnavis under the pseudonym Turobi.
Chustiy published about twenty poetry collections; they are rich and varied in genre and style. His works include "Kozgol" (1942), "Lolazor" (1945), "The Pleasure of Life" (1951), "Flower Season" (1969), "Gazals" (1978), "Yod eting kamtarin Chustiyin Ham" (1984). Among his poetry collections are "Zafarnoma" (1939), "The Old Woman Who Entered Paradise Alive" (1939), "Kiyiknoma" (1940), "Gul Sadosi" (1949), "Uygurabad" (1948), "Bogi Eram" (1978). epics were also warmly received by readers. Also, the poems of the poet, such as "Hayatnoma" (1988), "Sadoqat Gullari" (1992), "Kongil Tilagi" (1994), nourished by the traditions of our classical literature, play a worthy role in instilling the Eastern moral philosophy to the reader. A number of his ghazals, mukhamas and masnavis included in the book "Kongil Tilag" have significant value in this regard.
The poet addressed the generations, sons and daughters, grandchildren, and the future:
Be like a priceless jewel in the world.
Be like a giant in the sky of life,
invites.
In Chusti's work, the work "The World of Voices" (1969) has a special value; it is led by the idea of ​​preserving and honoring the spoils of life, national values ​​and traditions.
Chustiy was especially famous as a singer-poet. Dozens of his ghazals were recorded on gramophone records in the 30s. Dozens of the poet's songs, such as "A question to my friend", "Don't flirt", "Don't be idle", "Ming baloni gadi", "Muhtaj bolmagai", "Doesn't need antimony", "The work of unfaithful people", "Oshno bolma mutuh" performed by our singers.
Chusti was also a playwright and a translator. He co-authored stage plays such as "Davron Ota", "Qurban Umarov" and "Brave Family". He translated the works of Hafiz, Adib Sabir Termizi, Mirza Ghalib, Ali Sardor, M. Tursunzoda into Uzbek.
