Zakat on commercial goods

Commercial goods are goods other than gold and silver made for trade or manufactured for trade. It is obligatory to pay zakat when the value of the total amount of gold in the hands of the merchant reaches the nisab amount of gold and silver. When calculating the total quantity, the value of the individual types of goods is added together. Two things are required to pay zakat on commercial goods:
1. Intention to trade (these goods) for one year.
2. There should be no impediment to the payment of zakat on commercial goods. It is as follows: firstly, the commercial purpose should be at the time of sale, and secondly, it should not lead to giving zakat twice on something. A piece of land is bought for trade, and it is given an axis, a tithe of the harvest from the ground. Zakat is not paid on the value of the land.
Commercial goods are priced at the value of what best suits the interests of the poor. That is, the price of commercial goods is one of gold or silver, supplementing the amount of nisab, according to the other; even if it is not replenished, according to the former, the goods are priced and zakat is given, while the latter is ignored.
