Carlo Goldoni

Carlo Goldoni, the founder of Italian national comedy, was born on February 1707, 25 in Venice. He reformed the comedy of masks in his first works "Momolo Cortezan", "Momolo Brenteda", "Sinish".

Comedy of masks is the creation of an unprepared show based on a script with a short outline of the plot. These works of Goldoni had a solid text, clear human characters, ideas of enlightenment, criticism of society's vices. Goldoni has preserved the advantages of the comedy of masks - gaiety, consistency in the development of the plot.

Carlo Goldoni wrote 155 comedies, 18 tragedies, and 94 librettos. In 1784-1787, he wrote "Memoirs" on the history of the theater. Goldoni's comedies "Mehmonkhona bekasi", "Ikki boyga bir malay" ("One servant of two masters") and other comedies were translated into Uzbek and staged at the Muqumi Theater. He died in Paris in 1793.
