Sheikh Muhammad Sodiq Muhammad Yusuf (1952-2015)

Sheikh Muhammad Sadiq Muhammad Yusuf was born on April 1952, 15 in the Andijan region.

After graduating from high school, they continued their education at the Mir Arab Madrasah in Bukhara, and then at the Imam Bukhari Islamic High School in Tashkent. As soon as he graduated from high school, he worked for the Muslims of the Soviet East. The Religious Board of Muslims of Central Asia and Kazakhstan has sent Sheikh Muhammad Sadiq Muhammad Yusuf abroad to study at the Faculty of Islamic Da'wah in Tripoli, Libya. Sheikh Muhammad Sadiq Muhammad Yusuf graduated from the faculty in 1980 and returned home.

Sheikh Muhammad Sadiq Muhammad Yusuf then worked in the Foreign Relations Department of the Central Asian and Kazakh Muslim Religious Board, while also teaching at the High School. Later, he worked as a deputy director and then as a director.

Sheikh Muhammad Sadiq Muhammad Yusuf was appointed Mufti of the Religious Board of Muslims of Central Asia and Kazakhstan at the General Congress of the Religious Board in 1989. Hazrat Sheikh Muhammad Sadiq Muhammad Yusuf became the first Mufti of the independent Republic of Uzbekistan.

In the same year, Sheikh Muhammad Sadiq Muhammad Yusuf was elected a deputy to the former Soviet Supreme Soviet. His Highness the Sheikh presented a statement to the President of the former Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev and the Supreme Soviet on the life of Muslims in the former Soviet Union. The protocol raised the issue of respecting the rights of Muslims and restoring their rights. After the Sheikh's direct contacts with Gorbachev, positive changes began to be felt in the communist regime's policy toward Muslims. Through the efforts of His Highness the Sheikh, many mosques and madrassas were opened in the former Soviet Union, and Muslims were allowed to perform their religious rites and ceremonies. At the behest of the sheikh, Gorbachev decided to drastically increase the number of Muslims going on pilgrimage from the former Soviet Union. In addition, during this period, the sheikh carried out large-scale work to decide the fate of Muslims.

Sheikh Muhammad Sadiq Muhammad Yusuf traveled to several countries as a member of the Soviet delegation. At President Gorbachev's invitation, they went to the Afghan Mujahideen's temporary headquarters in Peshawar and held talks with Afghan jihad commanders. Sheikh Muhammad Sadiq Muhammad Yusuf had focused his efforts on removing obstacles to the restoration of the religious rights, religious education and culture of the Muslims of the former union.

Sheikh Muhammad Sadiq Muhammad Yusuf has in recent years devoted himself to science and propaganda, as well as activities to promote religious culture.

The inaugural meeting of the World Islamic Association in Makkah, the World Sufism Association, the General Secretariat of the World Islamic Peoples' Union, the World Da'wah Association, the World Council of Ulema, the World Islamic Association in Islamabad, the World Mufakir in Makkah were members of the executive committee of the Assembly of Ulema, the World Association of Mosques, and the Academy of Islamic Thought affiliated with the Ali Bayt Foundation in Jordan.

He has also been awarded honorary titles and awards from a number of countries, including the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Libyan Republic and the Russian Federation.

Sheikh Muhammad Sadiq Muhammad Yusuf passed away on March 2015, 10 in the city of Tashkent. Sheikh Zayniddin was buried in the Sheikh Zayniddin Buva (Kokcha) Cemetery in Tashkent.
