Despite being injured in 1994, Lina Cheryazova competed in the Lillexammer Olympics and won an unprecedented victory by completing a complex program that rotated three times in the air! His success deserves a place in our history as the first gold medal won by independent Uzbek athletes on the Olympic island.
He was told his mother had died while he was fighting for victory at the World Cup. He withstood a heavy blow physically and mentally, continued to compete in the World Cup until the end and won.
