Miraziz Azam (1936)

Miraziz Azam was born on March 1936, 29 in Balandkoprik mahalla in Tashkent in an educated family.
Miraziz Azam began rehearsing poetry during his school years. While studying at Tashkent State University (now the National University of Uzbekistan), he translated works of world literature classics such as Heinrich Heine, Pushkin, and Yesenin. His poems were published in the modern Turkiston newspaper and Gulkhan magazine. Miraziz Azam worked for the Uzbek Television and Radio Company, Gulkhan magazine, and the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan (until 1996).
Miraziz Azam's "Smart Kids" (1969), "What Happened to You" (1970), "Strange Dream" (1972), "The Earth Turns" (1973), "Let's Glory to the Earth" (1976), "A Pocket of Walnuts" ( 1990), “Forty Questions for Forty Children” (2000), “The Brightest Stars” (2002), “Selection” (2005), as well as an illustrated children's illustrated dictionary “I Know a Thousand and One Words” (2016) published. Three collections of poetry have been published in Russian, and children's poetry books have been published in Ukrainian, Turkmen, and Mongolian. A number of poetry collections have been published in Belarusian, Moldavian, Azerbaijani, Latvian, Turkish, Kazakh, Kyrgyz and other languages.
His books "I Love" (1977), "Emotions" (1980), "Sabot" (1983), "Eyes of Truth" (1988), "Memories", "Manuscripts" (2016) were published for adults. The struggle for human freedom, truth, freedom and independence are the main ideas of these works. The poet also continued his dream practice in the following years and published his divan “Autumn Leaves” (2010). His two-volume collection of essays, The Love of Adults (2012,2016), found its fans.
As a hard-working creative translator, he translated ten volumes of World Children's Literature into our native language, which contain a number of rare examples of world children's literature. He translated samples from the works of the great scholars of the East, such as Farididdin Attar, Nizami Ganjavi, Jalaliddin Rumi, Abdurahman Jami.
Miraziz Azam is also actively involved in the literary process with his journalistic works.
Composer Nuriddin Giyosov created a symphony and oratorio based on the poet's collections "Emotions" and "Sabot".
Miraziz Azam was awarded the Mahmud Kashgari Prize for his scientific and analytical articles in 1993, and the Mavlono Jaloliddin Rumi Prize in 2007 at the Turkish Poetry Festival in Skopje, Macedonia.
