Philosophical problems of globalization

Plan:
  1. Globalization is a new philosophical topic.
  2. Global problems as a consequence of globalization.
  3. The need to create a global consciousness.
       Course Objectives  It is to discuss with students about the problems of social development, the current period, the characteristics of the world civilization in the current period, the importance of studying the specific features of our country's development, and to improve their knowledge and skills.
The term "Globalization" was first mentioned by the American scientist T. Levit in 1983 in an article published in the "Harvard Business Review" magazine. This is what the author called the process of unification of various regional product markets produced by large multinational corporations.
Theories about globalization:
  • the attention of economic theorists is mainly focused on the analysis of such issues as financial globalization, the formation of global transnational corporations, the regionalization of the economy, and the acceleration of world trade.
  • And in historical works, this process is interpreted as one of the stages of the plural development of capitalism.
  • Political scientists are deeply researching the acceleration of the process of transnationalization, the strengthening of interdependence between the countries of the world, the formation of a new global order with the participation of the UN and other international organizations.
  • Specialists in the field of sociology are looking for evidence confirming the convergence and homogenization of the lifestyles of the peoples of different countries and regions under the influence of the universalization of culture.
  • Philosophers, relying on Kant's idea of a unified eternal world and universal government, are trying to justify the harmony of values of different nations and peoples. It is known that neither a single definition of the globalization process nor a single concept reflecting its essence has been created. However, the most common aspects of this process, in our opinion, are as follows:
  • Firstly, the main technology of the second half of the XNUMXth century was related to the production of nuclear weapons. The technologies of the global era are determined by means of communication such as television, jet aircraft, space satellites, computers, mobile phones, and the Internet.
  • Secondly, humanity's entry into the era of globalization means the decline of the communist idea, ideology and politics, and therefore the victory of liberal-democratic values. Although these values are established in many countries of the world, it is no secret that their form and essence sometimes differ from the true democratic idea and principles.
Universal problems that threaten humanity today mean problems that cannot be solved without the participation of the whole world, all countries and peoples.
         Such problems are:
— prevention of the threat of thermonuclear war and disarmament;
— creating favorable conditions for the growth of world economy and social life;
— ending economic backwardness; ending poverty and hunger on earth;
— rational and comprehensive use of natural resources;
— further activation of international cooperation for the use of scientific and technical achievements for the happiness of mankind (fighting against the most dangerous diseases, mastering space);
- more effective use of world ocean resources and opportunities; prevention of the risk of ozone layer loss, etc.;
— to carry out serious research in mutual cooperation about humanity and its future; scientific analysis of the process of adaptation of the human body to the rapidly changing artificial and natural environment.
         The world civilization means universal humanity, society on our planet, which is a unified social system of Eastern and Western civilizations, regional and territorial civilizations. In a general sense, this concept reflects the complex of processes related to life on earth, which is the common space of all people who lived on our earth, and the existence of states, societies, peoples and nations that existed in all periods of history.
         Each people, nation develops independently and joins the world community while preserving its unique and unique characteristics. Such integration is multifaceted, diverse, and covers social, economic, political, spiritual, legal, interstate relations.
                   In our time, the civilizational approach to social development, the approach mechanism of civilizations and their classification, civilization and culture, and values require a new interpretation. It is time to study the East, including Uzbekistan, the cradle of different civilizations.
                   The achievement of independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the role of Uzbekistan in global development, the importance of the "Uzbek model", the emergence of a new state system, structural changes in the economic sphere, and the analysis of society's liberalization are among the urgent problems.
