What configurations of ICE are available?

ICE is an internal combustion engine

ICEs also vary in structure. Depending on the type of configuration, the total horsepower and torque of the car are determined. Factories often try to avoid such problems because of the high cost of manufacturing certain configurations. Below I present to your attention some ICE engine configurations:

👉 Inline (straight) cylinders located in a row along the elbow valve. Common options include configurations such as inline-3, inline-4, inline-5, and inline-6
👉 V-type. Cylinders located in two rows at an angle forming a "V" shape. Common variants include V6, V8, V10 and V12.
👉 W-type. Cylinders arranged in three or four rows forming a "W" or "X" shape. For example, W12 and W16.
👉 Flat (horizontally opposite) cylinders are located in two rows on both sides of the crankshaft, like boxer's fists. Common options include flat-4 and flat-6, etc

Other factors: Additional elements such as cylinder offset, crankpin configuration, and cooling system architecture can further differentiate engine configurations.
