Margilan silk products were also in great demand in countries such as India and Iran. Atlas weaving has been developed in Margilan since ancient times and spread to other places from here. Margilan silk fabrics were bought in ancient times by traders from Iran, Egypt, Greece, India and Kashgar. In the early twentieth century, there were hundreds of satin weavers in Margilan. Fabrics have always been the most marketable commodity in sales, purchases, exchanges in trade relations. China is a major silk producer. In the V-VI centuries in the Fergana valley also began to engage in silk work. There are 2 main types of weaving. The first consisted of cotton yarns woven for all sections of the population, and the second of silk fabrics. Yarn fabrics were woven by women, and silk and semi-silk fabrics by men. The adras produced in Margilan is made of natural silk, the back of which is made of thick silk. Because the yarn strip was thick, transverse streaks appeared on the surface of the fabric. In the second half of the XNUMXth century, seven different colors were used to weave abril fabrics. By the twentieth century, colors had dwindled to two. This is a very complex and labor-intensive process, and this method was mainly used in satin weaving. In the 100th century, about XNUMX satin weavers worked in Margilan. In the 20s, there were 4 industrial cooperatives in the city, and in 1963, the famous Atlas was established. The best type of atlas is the eight-point atlas. Beqasam is also an ancient fabric. Beqasam in the Fergana Valley is soft because the ribbon is thin, and in the form of stripes it is given turquoise-purple, blue, green, pink colors. After special treatment of the fabric, one side turned out to be smooth. In Margilan, white chiffon, six cages, and marble are woven. Natural dyes made from pomegranate peel, onion, walnut peel were used to dye the fabrics. Today, there are many different types of satin, and traditional methods are used to weave and decorate them.
