Omonulla Madaev (1942-2019)

Well-known literary scholar, candidate of philological sciences Omonulla Madaev was born on May 1942, 20 in Tashkent. In 1964 he graduated from the philological faculty of Tashkent State University. In 1958 he worked as a teacher of boarding school No. 1 in Tashkent, in 1964 as a teacher of secondary school No. 82 in Tashkent, in 1966 he worked at the Department of Uzbek Classical Literature of Tashkent State University, from 1982 he worked as an associate professor at the Department of Uzbek Classical Literature.

In 1973 he defended his dissertation on "Peculiarities of Khorezm folk epics." Author of many scientific and methodological works, in particular, "How to write an essay?" (1989), author of the textbook "Literature of the Motherland" for 7th and 9th grades.

Omonulla Madaev's "Conversations with Alpomish" (1998), "Folk oral poetry" (2001, 2003) have been widely recognized by the scientific community. He was awarded the Order of Friendship and the title of People's Teacher of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
