Sadriddin Salim Bukhari (1946-2010)

Sadriddin Salim Bukhari (Sadriddin Salimov) was born on September 1946, 16 in the Chopboz guzar in the city of Bukhara. He graduated from the Faculty of German Language of the Bukhara Pedagogical Institute (1972), where he taught young people for many years.

Poetry collections such as "My swan", "My male bird" (1979), "Man of light" (1983), "Scarf" (1988), "Bukhara came to Bukhara" (1999), "Durdonalar" (2005) were published. He also wrote several historical and enlightenment books (Bahouddin Naqshband or the Seven Pirs, 1993; Three Saints, 2000; Hazrat Abu Kafs Kabir, 2006; Two Hundred and Seventy-Seven Pirs, 2006; Hazrat Bahauddin Naqshband) , 2006; "Hazrat Kabul Akhbar Wali", 2007 and others).

He is the author of the five-part TV film "Imam al-Bukhari", the script of the TV films "Abu Hafs Kabir" and "Hojai Jahon". He translated Goethe's "West-East Office" from German, Khoja Arif Revgari's "Orifnoma", Muhammad Baqir's "Maqomati Shahi Naqshband", Hoja Shahobiddin's "Maqomati Sayid Mir Kulol" from Persian-Uzbek into Uzbek.

He was awarded the Order of Labor Glory (1999) and the Order of Selfless Service (2005).

Sadriddin Salim Bukhari passed away in February 2010.
