? MECHANISM OF DRUG ACTION?
The drug has a laxative effect 8-10 hours after ingestion. This feature of the drug is characterized by increased intestinal peristalsis due to its effect on the receptors of the colon. Chambarak selectively affects the intestine, restores normal bowel function, does not become addicted to the drug and does not affect digestion.
The active ingredients of the drug are partially absorbed in the small intestine and excreted in the colon, and some are excreted in the colon as a result of bacterial action. It is excreted in the urine and feces.
? APPLICATION?
Senadexin is used for spastic and atonic constipation of various etiologies, including decreased peristalsis and hypotension of the colon. Recommended in hemorrhoids, proctitis and posterior fissure fractures to regulate diarrhea.
? METHOD OF APPLICATION AND DOSAGE?
Senadexin is usually taken 1 tablet after dinner. If the effect is not noticeable, the single dose can be increased to 2-3 tablets after a few days.
? SIDE EFFECTS?
Flatulence, abdominal pain, and diarrhea may occur after taking the drug. In such cases, the dose may need to be reduced or treatment discontinued. With long-term use, especially in large doses, electrolyte loss may occur, mainly in potassium, albuminuria, hematuria, accumulation of melanin in the intestinal mucosa, and disruption of intermuscular connections.
❌ CONDITIONS WHICH CANNOT BE USED?
Spastic colitis, cecum, intestinal obstruction, unexplained abdominal pain, water and electrolyte disturbances, traumatic hernia, acute inflammatory diseases of the abdominal cavity, peritonitis, gastrointestinal and uterine bleeding, cystitis.
? DRUG EFFECTS?
Prolonged use of large doses of senadexin may increase the effect of cardiac glycosides and antiarrhythmic drugs associated with the development of hypokalemia.
The risk of hypokalemia is increased when thiazide is taken in combination with diuretics, glucocorticoids, red brain root drugs. Absorption of tetracycline antibiotics is impaired.
? ADMIN ADVICE?
▶ Recommended with caution in liver and kidney disease, pregnancy and lactation. Occasionally, urine may change color when senadexin is taken, which is not clinically relevant (safe condition, no worries).
▶ The safety of senadexin during pregnancy has not been proven. It is not recommended because of the risk of abdominal pain, diarrhea, and intestinal spasms.
