Sultan Akbariy (1923-1997)

Sultan Akbari (pseudonym; real name Akbarov Sultan) (1923.3.12 - Tashkent - 1997.3.6) - poet, journalist. Honored Worker of Culture of Uzbekistan. Graduated from the Tashkent Pedagogical Institute (1942). Participated in World War II (2-1942).

He worked in the newspapers "Lenin's Spark" (1946-47), "Young Leninist" (1952-53), "Red Uzbekistan" (1953-59). Editor-in-Chief (1960-63), Executive Secretary of the Tashkent Haqiqati and Syrdarya Haqiqati newspapers, deputy editor (1963-64), Sharq Yulduzi (1964-66) and Gulistan (1968) magazines. Director, Executive Secretary, Deputy Editor of the Teachers' Newspaper (since 1968).

His career began in 1940. He created in a gracious style. He is the author of "My Faith, My Faith", "Wounded Songs", "Beauty is not beauty, love is beauty", "Thanksgiving", "Mehrigiyo" (1956), "Dovan and Devon", "Sounds of the heart" (1968) and other collections of poetry.

As a narrator, Sultan Akbari also wrote many works: "Whirlpool" (1964), "Master" (1970), "Repression" (1992). The Kyrgyz epic “translated the third book of Manas into Uzbek.
