What is the level of extreme poverty in the world and in Uzbekistan?
According to the UN, to date, 25 people die of starvation every day, most of them children. Almost 1 billion people on the planet are forced to settle for $ 2 a day, while the income of 2,5 billion people does not exceed $ 3 a day.
The number of the world's poorest people with a daily income of less than $ 1,90 and a percentage of the total population are as follows:
- Hindositon 103 million people (5-10%);
- Nigeria 91 million people (40-50%);
- Congo DR 67,2 million (70%);
- Tanzania 29,2 million (40-50%);
- Ethiopia 27 million (20-30%);
- Madagascar 21,8 million (70%);
- Mozambique 19,7 million (50-70%);
- Yemen 19,6 million (50-70%);
- Uganda 18,7 million (30-40%);
- Venezuela, Angola 17,9 million (50-70%);
Unfortunately, 1,4 million people in Uzbekistan are very poor, which is 4,1% of the total population.
