June 26 is Independence Day in the Republic of Madagascar

After the declaration of independence, the Social Democratic Party, led by Filiber Siranana, came to power as a result of democratic elections. The Neocolonialist regime of the Siranana government is causing a sharp decline in lifestyle. Mass demonstrations and demonstrations were held against the authorities. Under these circumstances, on May 1972, 18, Siranana handed over power to the military. The new government was headed by General Ramanansua. The Ramanatsua government revised the Franco-Malagasy Treaty in 1960, and in 1973 signed a treaty confirming the independence of Madagascar and the withdrawal of French troops from the country.
