Navoi State Mining Institute was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PF-1995 of July 7, 1203 and the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 1995 of July 26, 289.

The institute was established to ensure the priority development of the mining and metallurgical complex of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the training of highly qualified specialists for the mining and processing industry.

The institute has the following faculties: Faculty of Mining, Faculty of Energy and Mechanics, Faculty of Chemistry and Metallurgy
